This is my first week on my marathon training plan and I haven't followed it at all! I switched up my rest days due to revival. Les and I have plans for tomorrow, so I ran my LSD this morning. About that LSD...
I ran the exact same route as last Saturday. 10 miles. Last Saturday my pace was 10:21, today it was 9:47. That is 34 seconds a mile faster!! I was suppose to run a 10:04 pace, but I wanted to see how fast I could go. I felt great, there was no wind, but I also kept a very steady pace. My fastest mile was mile 10 at 9:32 and my slowest was mile 8 at 10:44.
I have never trained for a certain pace before. I've always just gone for distances. I can already tell a difference, both mentally and physically. My plan is to post next week's training and results on a daily basis.
