It's Marathon Eve! I can't believe Marathon #4 is here! Less than 24 hours until I start a long run down a long hill...
This will be my final post until after the marathon. I'll probably post a quick "I Finished" post Saturday afternoon then do a full report on Sunday or Monday. Fall finally arrived in Southern California - it's been in the 40s in the morning and I am loving it. I checked the temp at the start for tomorrow - it was 26 this morning with the forecast showing 38. The forecast for tomorrow is the same, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be really cold at the start.
Sunday - Rest Day
Results: Ran 8.01 miles in 1:23:03, 10:22 pace
My final long run and it went great!
Monday - 3 miles easy (10:35 pace)
Results: Rode 8.75 miles in 44:33, 11.8 mph
My legs were really feeling Sunday's run so I kept this ride very easy. I'm ready to spend a little more time on my bike without worrying about how it's going to affect my training. I'm also looking forward to doing some trail running. With my recent tripping, I didn't want to risk tripping over a rock or twisting an ankle.
Tuesday - Intervals - 7 miles
Results: Ran 6.32 miles in 1:16:35, 12:07 pace
I considered Sunday's run my long run and intervals combined. Two 2 mile intervals. Legs were still a little sore and I knew I didn't need to go fast.
Wednesday - 3 miles easy (10:35 pace)
Results: Rested
I went to bed Tuesday night feeling tired and knowing I needed some extra rest.
Thursday - Rest day
Results: Walked 2 miles in 33:30, 16:43 pace
I could have taken an extra rest day, but I was feeling a bit sluggish so decided to get out and walk for a bit.
Friday - 3 miles easy (10:35 pace)
Results: Ran 3 miles in 32:49, 10:55 pace
The winds picked up this morning and I held back so I would not do something stupid like trip!
Also walked .79 miles cool down.
Saturday - Race Day 26.2 miles!!
I'll let you know how this goes!
Total planned miles 16
Actual
Running 17.33
Walking 2.79
Cycling 8.75
Total 28.87
