I may have blogged about rest before, but this was in my training plan for today and I thought it was worth sharing:
If you get no sleep the night before a hard workout, try to rejigger your schedule and run easy instead. It's best to do the hard workout when you're well rested. If you try to run hard when you're tired, the workout will seem tougher than it should. You'll have to use more energy to perform at the same intensity, and that can be discouraging.It's not just the rest DAYS that are important, but quality rest at night as well. Using more energy to perform at the same intensity is not my idea of fun!
